The Annual Giving Fund supports efforts that are not funded by the State of California. Dana Middle School currently has approximately 800 students enrolled, and have ONLY 58 computers for students to use. This year the Dana Association has made the commitment to increase the student/computer ratio to 1:2 in all Language Arts
classrooms. In order to fulfill our committment we need to raise $40,000. By making a donation to the Annual Giving Fund you will:

1. Help the Dana Association reach their goal to raise $40,000.
   
2. Significantly reduce the student/computer ratio to a point where students can complete research reports in the classroom THIS year.
   
3. Invest in the future of ALL kids in the Point Loma Cluster.
   
4. Give opportunities to children to who may otherwise not have access to at home technology.

This Annual Giving Fund is a dynamic campaign and offers several different levels of giving available and many convienient ways to make your donation.

Your donation to the Annual Giving Fund will do wonders...the goal is to provide 1:2 ratio of laptop computers to the language arts department for students use THIS year. Currently, Dana Middle has close to 800 students and there are ONLY 38 desktop computers, located in our Library/Media Center and one mobile computer lab of 20 laptop computers for their use. Teachers have to reserve computer usage at the beginning of the school year for their classrooms which makes the availability very limited and inflexible.Note: the science department also has one mobile computer lab of 20 laptop computers purchased t from the VW Bug Fundraiser in 2006.
